Well that’s a wrap! For series 2 (to be broadcast early 2010)
I’ve just finished filming the 2nd series of ‘A Bargain A Stitch and A Wardrobe’. And what a fantastic series its going to be! Last year I filmed 5 pilot episodes, they proved so popular that ‘A Bargain A Stitch and A Wardobe’ was re-commissioned for a 2nd series!
A little bit more about and who is behind ‘ A Bargain A Stitch and A Wardorbe’
Julia Thompson who run’s TV company East Coast Pictures is producing the program for Channel 7. A Bargain A Stitch and A Wardrobe is a brand new pocket sized show that puts the fun back into fashion.
Julia originally from Cleethorpes recently returned back to her home town, after a glittering career in national and worldwide Television. The aim of this show is too offer and uplifting viewing experiance. Featuring local people who deserve makeovers and celebrating the best of the local area.
From Robbie William’s and Westlife to Davina McCall and Simon Cowell, Julia has rubbed shoulders with the hottest stars during her career. Julia started off as a runner on ‘Stars In their eyes and worked her way up the career ladder over the years.
In 2006, she was made director of entertainment at sony, one of the largest media intitutions in the world.
The broadcast executive has also worked as a producer for Simon Cowell’s firm Syco, as well as ITV and the BBC, and is the creator of smash hit show Nanny 911. And now the media bigwig has come back to her roots for her latest foray into TV.
Julia has created and produced A Bargain A Stitch and A Wardrobe specifically with the people, places and businesses of the local community in mind. Promoting local stores, independant boutiques, charity shops and High Street stores. The shows include celebrity looks from the High Street, revamping and outfit and a Wardrobe makeover for one lucky viewer.
In November 2008 five pilot episodes were filmed and presented by myself, Raj Johal, a fashion Lecturer, Jaime Jay a singer/songwriter recently been in the news for her break up with X Factor’s Marvin Humes of JLS. The shows were produced in partnership with East Coast Media.
The pilot series consisted of 12-minute episodes and is still currently being shown on Channel 7 to virgin media viewers

Series 2 is still presented by myself, but the original format of three presenters is now two, making it more day time TV, think Richard & Judy.

Meeting the fantastic viewers who received wardrobe surprise makeovers, lots of wonderful surprises and all behind the scenes gossip. This new 2nd series is a lot more relaxed than last year’s pilot episodes.
